Jewellery Art - A Wearable Expression of the Times

The World of Jewellery Art

Jewellery has always been seen as an adornment, worn to symbolise, embellish, reflect status or love. But in the last century Jewellery has come to be considered an expressive form of art, an art form that transcends time. Inspired jewellery creations reflect values and culture in the zeitgeist that influence the artist. Jewellery remains eternal telling the story of that time.

3D#

The 3D# collection is one I have been developing since 2018. The influence for this collection has come from my passion for language, the ability to communicate with others and the power that language has in this relationship. However, in order to be comprehensible a language needs structure - that structure is grammar. I have always found grammatical symbols intriguing.

This particular collection was inspired by the sudden and dominant relevance of the hashtag in our digital communications. What once was a symbol seen on a random telephone button in my youth to what has become a global tagging system in a digital world, even becoming part of our vernacular, this collection has seen the hero piece be refined and refined, ultimately until its perfection.

From the anti shape handcarved in wax, to its current form - halved, sliced, inverted and now repeated, this collection in all its forms as earrings, necklaces, pendants, rings & cufflinks is available in Sterling silver, 9ct, 14ct & 18ct yellow gold. Embrace this opportunity to collect original wearable art.

Hammered Water

Explore the collection that realises this Oxymoron.

We have a very complex relationship with water. We cannot live without it, our bodies are made up of it, we derive great pleasure from it, yet water levels are rising and we are being threatened by water. Indeed we can be destroyed by water.

Yet is it not the most relaxing & comforting sensation when you are immersed in water bathing? To feel the cool flow of water around your skin, ripple across your body?

Sustainably produced with recycled silver this limited edition sterling silver double cuff with reflecting mirrored finish is handmade in Ireland

That is the affect I strove to achieve with this collection. Through the use of traditional silversmithing skills using hammers, mallets, mandrels and elbow grease I manipulated the metal to form undulating shapes that contour the body, capturing the ripples and reflections of both the silver and water to create unique one of kind pieces. These are statement pieces of contemporary jewellery art.
