Irish Animal
Collection
This collection comes from an exploration of iconic Irish animals. My studio lies in the Irish countryside, a county where horses are plentiful, sheep and cows are over the fence and the nearby forests and hills are full of wild deer. Driving home one evening I got the fright of my life when a stag’s head appeared out of a hedge in front of me. True story.
I find the broad stroke shapes of these iconic animals particularly interesting so have represented them through a series of different metals using a contemporary geometric approach and tattoos for inspiration.
